BLOOD AUSTIN

Since 2025, I’ve spent a few weeks per summer living and working at Camp Half-Blood Austin (CHBA). CHBA is an experience like no other, fully immersing campers aged 9-18 into the fictional world of Percy Jackson through live-action role playing. As a counselor, I lead a weekly group of campers through daily activities including sword-fighting, archery, music, patrol, and “questing”, encouraging collaboration, creativity, and outdoor physical activity. Staff create a culture of inclusion and acceptance, shaping a themed experience for campers to be themselves while playing outside under the Central Texas sun. At CHBA, every camper is their own favorite main character.
